Tyreek Hill gets cryptic on social media as NFL trade rumors swirl

NFL trade season is nearing, and one superstar is getting cryptic on social media as the rumor mill churns.

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill joined the fun on X on Wednesday as his name was floated as a possible trade target amid Miami’s struggles without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa

“Woke up to trade news exciting,” Hill wrote on the platform.

Hours after hitting send on X, Hill was asked about a potential reunion with his former team, the Chiefs, who are in need of a wide receiver, but expressed his desire to remain in South Florida, according to the Palm Beach Post’s Joe Schad.

While there’s no way of knowing what “exciting” trade news Hill was referring to, he did post a follow-up.

“I love trolling you nut cases,” he wrote with two crying laughing emojis.

However, there was some more concrete gossip about one of his peers that surfaced this week.

Davante Adams requested a trade from the Raiders on Tuesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, perhaps piquing the interest of Hill.

“All I can control is this talk we’re having right here. And then, after we’re done with this, all I can control is the next thing that I’m on to,” Adams said during an interview Tuesday morning on “Up & Adams with Kay Adams.”

“I’ma get up in a minute and go get a nice workout in, and that’s all I can control.”

Adams has already been connected to the Jets and Saints, both of which would reunite him with one of his former quarterbacks – Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr.

The Dolphins fell to 1-3 after Monday night’s loss to the Titans, leading some to suggest that they might cut bait with Hill in what’s looking like a lost season.

Even so, Hill appears to be more of a long shot to be dealt out of Miami despite recent struggles on the field.

With Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley under center after Tagovailoa went down with a concussion in Week 2, Hill has caught just seven passes for 63 yards over the past two weeks.

Those duds follow a massive Week 1 with a healthy Tagovailoa in which he grabbed seven passes for 130 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown catch

He’s had more than 1,700 receiving yards and exactly 119 catches in each of the past two seasons with the Dolphins.
