Arsenal full squad for Newcastle United as five miss out and Gabriel decision made
by Keifer MacDonald · football.londonArsenal could be boosted by the return of Gabriel when they face Newcastle at St James' Park this weekend.
The Gunners will aim to close the gap between themselves and table-toppers Manchester City when they kick-start the latest round of Premier League fixtures on Saturday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta's side are winless in their last two Premier League games following last weekend's 2-2 draw with Liverpool and the 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth eight days earlier.
However, the Gunners did defeat Championship outfit Preston North End 3-0 at Deepdale on Wednesday night to seal a place in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
The Reds, though, were without Gabriel, Martin Odegaard, Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White. However, Arteta has revealed that Brazilian defender Gabriel is set to return to action on Saturday afternoon at St James' Park.
"We have a training session today, if he can complete that, he will be available," said Mikel Arteta in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
