Paul Pogba has claimed that Arsenal are "dominating" the Premier League alongside Liverpool and Manchester City. The 31-year-old praised the Gunners and their title rivals in a damning review of former club Manchester United following their dismal start to the season.

Pogba returned to United from Juventus for a club-record fee of £89million in 2016 and enjoyed a successful first couple of years back at Old Trafford, winning a couple of major trophies and emerging as one of the best midfielders in English football. However, after he requested to leave United at the end of the 2018/19 season, his form plummeted and he hasn't been the same since.

Having left United at the end of his contract in the summer of 2022, Pogba made the move back to Juventus. Despite exiting over two years ago, Pogba still watches United and has been keeping up-to-date with what is going on - including a miserable start to this campaign which has seen them win just three of their opening 10 matches.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Pogba analysed why United have not been competing at the "top" of the Premier League and highlighted Arsenal as an example that they might need to follow to get back there.

"I watch Manchester United, this is a club where I have my old teammates there, I like to watch the games," he said. "Manchester United is still one of the biggest clubs in the world, this is the truth.

"I am never going to destroy the club that I played for, this is not me. I respect all the players that are there, I think they are doing their best and I think they are talented players. I think there is a lot of media on Manchester United, I think they need time and you need to talk about the club at the top. I think they need time.

"For example, if you look at Arsenal, they had a long time to get back to the top and right now they are dominating the league with Manchester City and Liverpool. It's a big club, it's Manchester United and I think and believe they will come back to the top one day but the reality is that right now they are not at the top."

Arsenal endured a couple of difficult seasons after Arsene Wenger left in 2018 but have been successful over the last few years under Mikel Arteta despite not winning much. The Gunners are getting closer, having finished second in each of the last two campaigns and are eyeing another title push this term.
