Kai Havertz Arsenal injury truth emerges in dream Mikel Arteta scenario after huge announcement

Latest Arsenal injury news with a possible muscular issue for Kai Havertz perhaps not as bad as first feared following his Germany omission

by · football.london

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will spend the October international break with Mikel Arteta and at least eight others at London Colney. The 25-year-old has been in superb form recently with his sixth goal of the season coming in the 3-1 comeback victory over Southampton on Saturday afternoon at Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were both on the score sheet following Havertz's strike which cancelled out Cameron Archer's shock opener. The win took Mikel Arteta's side up to 17 points, just one behind league leaders Liverpool and on the same tally as Manchester City but in third because of goals scored.

Given the injury and suspension issues the Gunners have faced, just two draws from their opening 10 games in all competitions is an excellent return. Declan Rice, Mikel Merino and Leandro Trossard have all missed some action with Martin Odegaard, Ben White and Jurrien Timber among those currently absent due to injury.

Two weeks with no games will give that injured trio the chance to recover and it also looks set to provide Havertz with a needed break, though Arteta will be hoping it is only that. Over the weekend, following the win against the Saints, it was announced that Havertz had pulled out of the Germany squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures due to a knee injury.

Unsurprisingly, given his importance to Arsenal, this update sparked immediate concern over Havertz's fitness and with such a hectic schedule on the horizon - which includes a huge Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield - his absence would be a major blow.

However, as per GOAL journalist Charles Watts, there is no major concern surrounding Havertz and he was fine to complete Saturday's game. Given how much football he has played, it is believed the best course of action is for him to stay with Arsenal over the next fortnight and subsequently take no risks.

Based on this update, it is absolutely the dream scenario for Arteta and Arsenal supporters with no chance for an injury to occur in two competitive games for Germany and it is also seemingly proof that Havertz is not already carrying a major issue.

The former Chelsea man has played every minute of Arsenal's Premier League and Champions League games this season and also appeared for a 28-minute cameo in the Carabao Cup against Bolton. Given the new campaign began under two months ago, that is a lot of football to have played and thus Havertz is due a bit of a break.
