Moises Caicedo and Barcelona wonderkid agree on Chelsea star as two-word message sent
by Kieran Horn · football.londonChelsea star Marc Guiu has been sent a message by a Barcelona wonderkid after scoring his first competitive goal for the club. Enzo Maresca chose to move away from his usual Conference League starting XI, which saw him select Guiu and Tyrique George for the clash against Noah.
After just 21 minutes, the Blues were 4-0 up with Tosin Adarabioyo, Guiu, Axel Disasi and Joao Felix on target. Just before the interval, Mykhailo Mudryk scored a delightful strike with Felix also on target again, while Christopher Nkunku netted a brace of his own in the second half.
For the likes of Nkunku, Felix and Mudryk, they will have been keen to impress, especially AS becoming regulars in Premier League action remains a target for all three. As for Guiu, the 18-year-old will have likely just been glad to get some minutes having not started a game since the Conference League qualifiers back in August.
Though he had played just 197 minutes of football before his appearance against Noah, Guiu showed no signs he was off the pace when he capitalised on a defensive mistake before expertly side-footing an effort into the back of the net.
The teenager was ultimately replaced by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at half time, with Enzo Fernandez also making way for Cesare Casadei, but he would have been delighted with his contribution and that was clearly evidenced by his social media post after the game.
On Instagram, alongside a number of pictures from the game, he said: "Happy for my first goal at home with our fans, thanks for your support. We keep working for more @chelseafc [blue heart emoji]. It's not me, it's god [praying hands emoji]."
In reply Moises Caicedo said: "Bravooo hermano [two clapping hands emojis]." Tosin and former Chelsea star Marcos Alonso were also among those in the replies with Pau Cubarsi a former Barcelona teammate of Guiu also making his feelings clear as he wrote, "siii germaaaa [four red heart emojis]," with the first part of that message translating to, "yes."
While Guiu has struggled for minutes, Cubarsi has been a regular in defence for Barcelona this season with the Spanish giants comfortably top of La Liga and flying high in the Champions League.
