Tom Brady was full of admiration for Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey during Sunday's clash with the Baltimore Ravens, hailing him as "the Steph Curry of kickers".

The 29-year-old former USFL star has been nothing short of sensational since joining the Cowboys, boasting a record of 44 successful field goals out of 46 attempts in the NFL before this week. Aubrey continued his impeccable form, especially from long distance, by nailing his 14th consecutive field goal from over 50 yards this time a colossal 65-yarder, placing it as the second-longest in NFL history, just one yard behind the record held by Ravens' Justin Tucker.

Brady, who was commentating his third game for FOX, couldn't hide his amazement at Aubrey's combination of strength and precision, likening him to NBA sharpshooter Curry, famous for his long-range scoring prowess.

"It's hard to imagine the thought of attempting those. He just bangs it, what a leg. The accuracy, we talked about him before, he's like the Steph Curry of kickers," exclaimed Brady as Aubrey's kick sailed through the uprights.

"There is no range that is too far. It's interesting as you see all of these long field goals being taken in the NFL. I played for a long time, we all know that. The idea of a 52-yard field goal was always the line of demarcation. That mental block brain barrier has been broken by NFL kickers at this point."

Aubrey kicked off his sporting career as a soccer star at Notre Dame, where he found the back of the net 15 times in 76 matches while defending for the Irish. He was snapped up as a first-round selection by Major League Soccer's Toronto FC in 2017, although his professional playtime came primarily in the USL Championship with Toronto FC II and the Philadelphia Union's side-kick Bethlehem Steel.

Missouri's own Aubrey took a detour through the world of software engineering before bringing his A-game to the football pitch for the Birmingham Stallions in the USFL which recently amalgamated with the XFL to launch the UFL's spring league. His exploits led to two USFL title triumphs and a spot on the prestigious 2022 All-USFL team, drawing NFL scouts' gazes.

For the Cowboys, however, Aubrey's monster kick was one of the rare highlights on an otherwise dreary day at AT&T Stadium, overpowered by a Ravens squad marching to the beat of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry's drum. The Cowboys trailed Baltimore 21-6 at half-time, with Dak Prescott struggling to propel the offense.

The spectacle soured further in the third quarter when ex-Tennesse Titans heavyweight Henry bulldozed through for his second touchdown of the match.

The Cowboys are on a downward spiral, heading towards a 1-2 season record after failing to bounce back from last week's crushing defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Mike McCarthy's squad now faces a swift turnaround for Week 4, as they head to MetLife Stadium for a Thursday Night Football showdown with their NFC East rivals, the New York Giants.
