Dimitar Berbatov leaves Jamie Carragher speechless with comment live on Sky Sports
Dimitar Berbatov was in the Sky Sports studio as Fulham came from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 on Monday and the former striker left fellow pundit Jamie Carragher and presenter David Jones speechless with his reaction
by Matthew Cooper · The MirrorDimitar Berbatov left the Sky Sports studio in stitches with his hilarious verdict on Fulham's dramatic comeback win over Brentford on Monday.
Brentford took the lead thanks to a stunning long-range strike from Vitaly Janelt, but Harry Wilson came off the bench to score a brace in stoppage time to earn a late 2-1 victory for Marco Silva's side.
Wilson's second goal came at 96 minutes and 46 seconds, making it the latest winner Fulham have ever scored in a Premier League match. And Berbatov, who played for Fulham between 2012 and 2014, celebrated wildly in the studio.
After calming down to provide some analysis on the game, Berbatov left fellow pundit Jamie Carragher and presenter David Jones in hysterics as he quipped: "This is the type of game where, you know, after the game babies are made." Carragher then responded: "On that note let's go for a break."
Reflecting on the dramatic victory, Fulham boss Silva said Wilson "deserves" his success after a "tough" season so far. The winger has yet to make a league start this campaign, instead having to settle for a bit-part role off the bench.
"I said that he deserved the moment," Silva said post-match. "It's been tough for him and I know it. He's been so important for us. He is a top lad, a top guy and he wants to play more. I congratulate him and said he deserves the moment.
"We saw a little bit of what has been our season so far - being dominant in most of the games, the best team on the pitch most of the games and creating much more chances than the opposition side. But the reality is that, in some moments, we didn't get so far the points that we deserve from the game.
"From the first minute, on the front foot was Fulham. First 20 minutes of the game, I think we did create two or three clear chances to score. And from nowhere - they didn't have anything until that moment - the shot 25 yards from the goal, and they scored.
"The reality is that we didn't lose the confidence. We tried and tried, kept pushing them back and trying many different ways to score, and the result was really unfair at half-time.
"I told the players that we have to keep pushing hard, and it's going to be tough for [Brentford] to keep always blocking everything. I have to give credit to them. They defended really hard their box - 10 players always around their box, a lot of bodies there. But the reality is that we didn't give up."
