Jack Grealish explains why he'll never ask Bukayo Saka to babysit his daughter

Jack Grealish has joked that he would avoid asking Bukayo Saka to babysit his newborn child out of all his England team-mates, saying the Arsenal winger might "fall asleep".

The Manchester City star's partner Sasha Atwood gave birth to their daughter Mila on September 27 just before Pep Guardiola's side drew 1-1 with Newcastle United - though the ex-Aston Villa man still started the game on the left wing.

Attwood called the birth "the most special moment of her life" as she posted a black and white photo on social media introducing her daughter as Mila Rose Grealish.

Grealish was asked which of his England team-mates he would least like to look after his child ahead of their home clash against Greece in the Nations League.

"The worst... I'm going to go Saka," he told BBC 5 Live. "Yeah I'm going to go Bukayo. I just reckon he would be sloppy, you know, falling asleep and that."

Grealish and Saka are close team-mates who have played together for England since 2020, both playing a part in the team reaching the Euro 2020 final against Italy and have played in two major tournaments alongside each other.

Grealish was then asked who he would most like to babysit Mila - and had no hesitations over picking England captain Harry Kane, saying the Bayern Munich striker because he was the most "reliable".

“Harry Kane, I think. It's quite a young team so I wouldn't put it on any of the young lads and you know Harry, he's so reliable. One of the oldest lads, so yeah I'd go Harry.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Grealish also said he would go to Jordan Pickford and Declan Rice for parenting advice, adding: "I'd go with Pickford. [I'm] Quite close with him. You know what actually, I could go with Dec as well. Maybe Dec or Jordan."

England play Greece on Thursday evening with both sides unbeaten in their opening two games of the Nations League campaign.

Lee Carsley will hope to pick up another win to continue his positive start to life as interim coach in a bid to land the permanent role since Gareth Southgate left. His Three Lions side will face Finland away on Sunday before the next international break in November.
