EA FC 25 is now available worldwide, with players finally able to get their hands on the highly-anticipated EA Sports FC release. From shooting assistance to your AI defensive style, there are some big changes you can make to your EA FC 25 controller settings, and making these updates could help you get better at the game. Here are our best EA FC 25 controller settings.

Best EA FC 25 controller settings

Here are the best EA FC 25 controller settings that we recommend, with these changes helping improve your overall gameplay and enjoyment of the game. These updates are best for players using a controller on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, with our experience proving to be better after making these settings changes.

These setting changes aren't guaranteed to improve your gameplay because, at the end of the day, it comes down to personal experience, and you may prefer different settings to the ones we recommend. But, one setting we definitely recommend changing is turning the Reaction Time Modifier off, as this seems to help with input delay.

Here are the best EA FC 25 controller settings:

Presets

  • Preset: Competitive

Shooting

  • Auto Shots: Off
  • Assisted Headers: Off
  • Shot Assistance: Assisted (precision if you feel more confident)
  • Timed Finishing: On

If you can master timed finishing, then your goalscoring record will improve drastically, so turn this on. Shot assistance should be Assisted, but if you're a pro player or very confident in your shooting ability, then Precision is the setting for you.

Passing

  • Auto Flair Pass: Off
  • Through Pass Assistance: Semi
  • Lobbed Through Pass: Semi
  • Ground Pass Assistance: Assisted
  • Cross Assistance: Semi
  • Lob Pass Assistance: Assisted
  • Pass Receiver Lock: Late
  • Precision Pass Sensitivity: Normal

Making sure your Pass Receiver Lock is late can be important, meaning the pass receiver is locked as late as possible, around the same time as when the ball is kicked.

Defending

  • Auto Clearances: Off
  • Clearance Assistance: Directional
  • Jockey: Manual
  • Defending: Tactical Defending
  • Pass Block Assistance: On

Tactical Defending will judge what sort of tackle you should make based on the player's position, ensuring you can make a tackle and not leave your position. This means that when commanding a standing tackle, it will choose between a standing tackle and a more physical tackle.

Switching

  • Auto Switching: On Air Balls and Loose Balls
  • Auto Switching Move Assistance: None
  • Right Stick Switching: Classic
  • Right Stick Switching Reference: Player Relative
  • Right Stick Switching Sensitivity: 4
  • Next Player Switching: Classic
  • Reaction Time Modifier: Off
  • Reaction Time Modifier Sensitivity: 6
  • Player Lock: On

Pressing the left and right analogue sticks in at the same time will trigger player lock, allowing you to control a player off the ball and call for a pass. This is a feature that can take your game to the next level if you get it right.

Dribbling

  • Contextual Dribbling: Off

Just keep it off. Please.

Goalkeeper

  • Save Assistance: Assisted

This only impacts user-controlled goalkeepers, but having Assisted Save Assistance means that the ball will be automatically saved when in close proximity to the goalkeeper's body.

Controller Preferences

  • Analog Sprint: Off

Analog Sprint means you can choose how fast you sprint, depending on how much you press down sprint in-game. Again, turning this on just makes your life way more difficult than it needs to be. Keep it off.

Camera Settings

  • Power Shot Zoom: Off

Visual Settings

  • PlayStyles+ Overhead Indicators: Off

The last two are more down to preference than the rest, though I've found that turning off the overhead indicator can result in less input delay.
