The Jacksonville Jaguars were heavily booed as they entered the field in London ahead of their game with the Chicago Bears - a city in which they have made a home away from home.

The Jaguars play a home game in London every year, and have done since 2013 - regularly holding off-season events in the city and investing heavily into building a brand in hopes of increasing the team's popularity. But that went out of the window when they entered the field against the Bears on Sunday, being mercilessly booed by fans in attendance. Further noise was also made while they were driving on offense - causing a brutal penalty on a third-and-one.

It should be noted that the Jaguars are not the home team for this game, being the away team with a large Chicago following in attendance inside the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. However, thousands of Jaguars fans could also be seen throughout the stadium.

The Jaguars will play a home game in London next week, set to face the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium with the team to remain. Jacksonville did play an away game in London last year, defeating the Buffalo Bills - and could not be heard being booed as they entered the field.

Jacksonville has started the season poorly in 2024, with one of the worst records in the NFL - currently sitting at 1-4 and in need of a win over the Bears. Pressure has mounted on head coach Doug Pederson, who missed out on the playoffs last season.

The Jaguars gave their quarterback, Lawrence, a huge contract extension this past offseason - making him one of the highest-paid players in NFL history and only adding pressure on the team to perform.

Fans in Jacksonville have booed their own team at times through their first four games, having bounced back in week five with a win over the Cleveland Browns.
