Newbury horseracing tips for Thursday’s five meetings, including Newbury Nap

Newsboy fancies his nap, Roysse, to win at Newbury and also hopes Shielas Well can score at Newcastle and complete his Daily Double

ROYSSE (1.05, Nap) is fancied to land the Agetur UK Novices' Hurdle on Thursday for trainer Ben Pauling.

The son of Kayf Tara was unbeaten in three point-to-points and won again on his Rules debut when landing a 10-runner bumper over Thursday's course and distance of two miles in January.

The five-year-old took a keen hold and pulled his way into the lead with a circuit to go.

Although he was headed in the back straight, the gelding regained the lead going easily over four furlongs out and readily beat Jurancon by two and a half lengths.

The form has been franked with the race producing four subsequent winners, including Jurancon and fourth-placed Doctor Kildare.

My selection has since undergone a wind op, is expected to be even better over fences and can make a winning Chase start under Ben Jones.

At Newcastle, SHIELAS WELL (3.55, nb) is the pick in the Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Nursery over a mile.

The two-year-old, trained by Grant Tuer, won over course and distance two starts ago when spreadeagling the eight-runner field by four lengths.

The runner-up, Force Of Honour, has since won well at Redcar.

Sheilas Well then followed up at Musselburgh, again over a mile, in September.

Always going well, the daughter of Saxon Warrior led inside the final 100 yards to won cosily by a neck from Sybaris Jewel.

Although she is up in grade on Thursday, Shane Gray's mount is fancied to complete a hat-trick.
