Bayern Munich's 'four-man Harry Kane replacement list' deals blow to Man Utd and Arsenal
Bayern Munich have drawn up a four-man shortlist of strikers who could replace Harry Kane, despite the former Tottenham star still banging in the goals with three years left on his contract
by Nathan Ridley · The MirrorHarry Kane might not be showing any signs of slowing down at Bayern Munich but the German giants are already thinking about his successor.
The 31-year-old has picked up where he left off during his second season in Bavaria, scoring a whopping 17 goals and laying on nine assists in just 15 games. England captain Kane is determined to help Bayern win back the Bundesliga title, having watched Bayer Leverkusen run away with it last term.
Given his age, though, Bayern are wary that Kane could suffer a drop-off before his contract expires in 2027, with a return to the Premier League - specifically Tottenham - expected to be on the cards. With that in mind, chiefs at the Allianz Arena have drafted a four-man shortlist which includes targets for Manchester United and Arsenal.
German outlet Sport Bild report that Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has piqued Bayern's interest, having moved onto 23 goals in 17 games this season following his Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City. As Sporting manager Ruben Amorim prepares to join United next week, it's being speculated that the Portuguese boss could bring him to Old Trafford next summer.
The 26-year-old Sweden international was linked with Arsenal over the summer, as was RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko. The highly-rated Slovenian, 21, was heavily tipped for a move to the Emirates after indicating that he was keen on joining Mikel Arteta's side.
Sesko, who United are also big fans of, then U-turned on his preference and signed a new deal with the German club, starting the season with seven games in 14 appearances. Belgium's Lois Openda is his strike partner for Leipzig and has also emerged as a name on Bayern's shortlist.

The 24-year-old scored an impressive 28 goals in 45 games last term, boosting his stock after impressive spells with French side Lens and Vitesse in the Netherlands. Finally, Eintracht Frankfurt sensation Omar Marmoush is a target for Bayern, having taken the Bundesliga by storm.
Scoring 12 goals and registering nine assists in only 14 games for Eintracht, the Egyptian forward is already proven in Germany, having spent his entire career in the country. Marmoush, 25, can also play in a variety of attacking roles, potentially meaning that he and Kane could spend a few years alongside each other.
With three years left on his contract, however, Kane is happy at Bayern and wants to stay for many years. The Spurs legend told the Sun last month: "I'm really enjoying it [at Bayern]. "I am learning [the language] and doing two lessons a week. I have a good teacher at Bayern.
"For me it is difficult but hopefully I will be there for many years and at some stage will be able to talk a bit of German." Kane added: "For now, it's about trying to achieve things here and trying to push myself and the team to try and reach new levels with this club. That's all my focus is on right now."
