Memphis Depay moved to Corinthians in the summer but could have his contract terminated after just a month.

The Dutchman agreed to leave Atletico Madrid early despite having a year left on his deal as several European outfits circled. Instead Depay chose to head to Brazil, where he's already made four appearances for his new club.

However his future at Corinthians is in doubt due to financial reasons. The Brazilian outfit are set to lose Esportes da Sorte as their primary sponsor with the company suspected of criminal activity, as per Paulo Vinicius Coelho, via Mundo Deportivo.

Esportes da Sorte are reported to be paying for the majority of Depay’s salary, which they would not be able to do if they were forced to cut ties with the team. The 30-year-old has a £9m-per-year agreement with the Brazilian side, making him one of the league's highest-paid stars.

Depay has already provided two assists for his new team and has been prolific at stages during his career, but may soon be on the look out for a new club once more.

The forward, since beginning his career in his homeland with PSV, has gone on to play in England, France and Spain. Depay was highly-rated at PSV and after a breakthrough season in which he broke the 20-goal barrier Manchester United came calling.

Louis van Gaal, Depay's compatriot, was then in charge of the Red Devils and opted to make the forward one of his marquee signings. Depay was inconsistent and in his second season - after scoring seven times in more than 50 outings - was allowed to leave for Lyon after Van Gaal himself had been sacked.

In France Depay recaptured his goalscoring form, notching 71 times across his four full seasons at the club. Twice he smashed the 20-goal barrier, including his final season in Ligue 1 before he chose to join another Dutch manager, Ronald Koeman, at Barcelona.

He spent two years at Nou Camp, scoring 13 times in his debut year, before later joining Atletico. Diego Simeone's side captured Depay for a minimal fee and he scored nine times in final season.
