The much-anticipated race between Olympic champion Noah Lyles and Super Bowl champ Tyreek Hill could soon be a reality.

Reports emerged on Sunday that Super Serious, a company co-founded by Hollywood star Terry Crews, has received confirmation from both athletes about their willingness to compete against each other.

The race will be part of the Duael competition, specifically the "Super Serious On Sight." series, which pits Olympic racers against other professional athletes in an elimination-style tournament, according to Ad Age. The report also suggests that Crews received a verbal agreement from Hill, while Lyles has officially signed up for the project, as per FloTrack.

If the race does happen, it would settle the debate over who is faster. Over the summer, Lyles and Hill engaged in a war of words, with Hill accusing Lyles of feigning illness after finishing third in the men's 200m final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Post-race, Lyles revealed he had tested positive for COVID-19, attributing his loss to the virus. Speaking on the "Up and Adams Show" with Kay Adams, Hill didn't mince words about Lyles' performance.

"Noah Lyles can't say nothing after what just happened to him," Hill declared. "He wants to come out and pretend that he's sick... Just speaking to what you know about, and that's track."

Hill is confident of holding his own against Lyles, and declared: "I would beat Noah Lyles. When I beat him, I'll put on a COVID mask and let him know I mean business."

However, when it came to acknowledging Hill's challenge, Lyles quipped: "What's that guy? What's the cheetah guy from football? I can't remember his name."

Despite being recognized among the NFL's quickest, with a record 100m dash of 9.98 seconds, Hill faces stiff competition from Lyles. The latter clinched gold with a blistering 9.79 seconds at a meet in Paris. But Lyles is notorious for his sluggish beginnings in races, often needing to tap into an extra burst of velocity to clinch victory.

Pitching in her two cents on the hypothetical clash dubbed by fans as a 'super race', Twanisha Terry speculated on the outcome during "The OGs" podcast. According to Essentially Sports, she says: "I don't know what Tyreek's start looks like. You can have the best start but Noah closes. He (Hill) is going to get run down in the 100m."
