Both Luke Donald and Keegan Bradley have revealed they are both open to including players from the LIV Golf setup in their Ryder Cup teams at Bethpage Black next Autumn.

Just one LIV member in Brooks Koepka competed at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, with the other 23 players coming from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. With tensions within men's professional golf beginning to ease though, the captains for the 2025 event appear more open to include players from the breakaway league.

Donald's winning team in Italy last October contained no members from the Saudi-funded circuit. However he has since seen two of his most important players in Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton make the LIV switch.

Despite doubt creeping in in recent months over whether they will be able to compete, Donald has reiterated his stance that they will be eligible for selection if they follow DP World Tour rules. "The DP World Tour's policy has been very consistent," the former world No. 1 claimed at a press conference in New York on Tuesday.

"It really is the same as it was in Rome. You have to be a member of the European Tour and born in Europe, and if you fulfil the regulations and rules the DP World Tour set then you are eligible. There are a bunch of LIV guys that are eligible so I can pick them at will.

Rahm and Hatton have been required to play four DP World Tour events by the end of the year to keep their membership and remain eligible to compete at next year's Ryder Cup. They will also need to settle any fines handed to them by the Wentworth-based circuit for competing in 'conflicting' LIV events.

Both have appealed the punishments handed to them in order to compete on the DP World Tour in recent weeks, and it remains to be seen when this appeal will be settled. Donald admitted on Tuesday that he had been in 'constant conversations' with both Rahm and Hatton.

On the American side, Bradley has revealed he is more than happy to pick players from both rival tours as long as it delivers the strongest side possible. "For us, I am going to take the 12 best players," the Team USA captain declared in New York a year out from the event

"If we feel like there are a few guys there, from one guy, two guys, whatever it is. Then we are going to do that, but we are too far out to figure out how all this will play out but we are definitely going to take the 12 best players, whoever that shakes out."

A whole host of American LIV members will no doubt be at the front of Bradley's mind, including 2023 team member and five-time major champion Koepka. Bryson DeChambeau will also be hoping to make a return following his US Open win this summer, whilst Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed could also be lent on for past experience on the Ryder Cup stage.
