Man City's late win at Wolves means they're just a point off leaders Liverpool

Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal next three Premier League games after title twist

Liverpool remain top of the Premier League and will face rivals Arsenal next weekend with champions Manchester City waiting in the wings to seize on any dropped points

Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool were the three teams going for the Premier League title last term - and the status quo looks to have remained.

The trio are the top three after seven games with four points separating Liverpool in first from Arsenal in third. The Gunners suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday night as they undone by Bournemouth.

Manchester City and Liverpool both then won on Sunday as they took advantage of Arsenal's slip up. The champions needing a stoppage time header from John Stones to beat Wolves whilst the Reds overcame Chelsea.

The Premier League will pause for a third time in December with another international break in the calendar. It means there are just three more matches until another pause, by which time the table could look very different with at least one title hopeful dropping points.

The blockbuster clash comes next week when Arsenal host Liverpool. The Gunners have won this fixture two years on the trot but will be without William Saliba, who is suspended following his red card, as they look to get back to winning ways.

It is also the first chance we really get to see Slot's Liverpool tested. Seeing off Chelsea at Anfield was a first step, but taking on Arsenal at their Emirates base is another kettle of fish. City will be watching on knowing at least one of their rivals will be dropping points.

Pep Guardiola's men take on three south coast sides before the international break - one at home before two away days on the bounce. They begin by facing newly promoted Southampton, who have struggled in the opening weeks of the season.

Top three's upcoming fixtures

Liverpool

27 October - Arsenal (A)

2 November - Brighton (H)

9 November - Aston Villa (H)

Man City

26 October - Southampton (H)

2 November - Bournemouth (A)

9 November - Brighton (A)

Arsenal

27 October - Liverpool (H)

2 November - Newcastle (A)

10 November - Chelsea (A)

After that they go to Bournemouth and then Brighton, looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. The champions will be eyeing maximum points from those three outings whilst Liverpool and Arsenal face far more challenging fixtures.

The table topping Reds host Brighton and then Aston Villa after their London away day. Both teams have caused them problems in the past and Villa have shown that last year was no flash in the pan and could provide another stern test for Liverpool.

Arsenal meanwhile have successive away dates at Newcastle and then Chelsea. They took one point from a possible six in these fixtures last term. St James' Park remains a tough place to go whilst the Blues are on the up, which they proved by running Liverpool close. Mikel Arteta will know his team can ill-afford to lose more ground to City, who have overhauled them in the past two seasons.
