Manchester United dream line-up vs Crystal Palace after huge double injury boost for Ten Hag
by Mark Wakefield · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United have been handed a welcome injury boost in the aftermath of the win over Barnsley.
United claimed a 7-0 victory over the League One club at Old Trafford on Tuesday night in the third-round clash of the Carabao Cup. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Christian Eriksen each scored braces, with Antony also on the score sheet from the penalty spot.
With passage to the fourth round safely secured, Erik ten Hag will now look ahead to this weekend when United face Crystal Palace in the Premier League. In the days leading up to the fixture, the Dutchman has been handed a fitness boost with two members of his squad.
Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount both took part in training at Carrington on Wednesday. Hojlund has not featured all season due to a hamstring injury, while Mount suffered a fitness issue after the defeat to Brighton last month.

It remains to be seen if any of the duo will be fit to start, or even feature, against Palace on Saturday. If so, it would hand a major squad selection boost to Ten Hag and United going into the weekend's clash.
Should Hojlund be fit, he would battle with Joshua Zirkzee for the starting striker spot in the United team. Zirkzee has scored one goal for United since his summer move from Bologna and has started each of the last two Premier League games.
In the case of Mount, the midfield may be difficult to get a place in the starting line-up straight away. With the arrival of Manuel Ugarte, the Uruguay international is expected to start alongside Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park, with Bruno Fernandes in an advanced No.10 role.
The back five may pick itself, with Andre Onana in goal supported by Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot at full-back. Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez are expected to return for the centre-back partnership at Selhurst Park at the weekend.
In the forward areas, Ten Hag could opt to start Amad Diallo on the right wing with Alejandro Garnacho on the left. The United boss also has Rashford and Antony who found their goalscoring form in the win over Barnsley in midweek.
