Alan Shearer's clear verdict on joining I'm a Celebrity as Man City pundit tipped to win
by Jack Flintham · Manchester Evening NewsNewcastle United and Premier League legend Alan Shearer has confirmed he will never appear on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here but believes one of his fellow pundits could win the show.
The hit ITV show returns to our screens next week as a team of celebrities jet off to the Australian jungle for a chance to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle. In the past, a host of sporting greats have decided to take part in the show including; boxer David Haye, rugby union star Mike Tindall and footballer Ian Wright.
This year, Coleen Rooney, dancer Oti Mabuse and boxing promoter Barry McGuigan are among the famous faces heading into the Jungle but Shearer has made it clear he will not join the show in the future. He told Betfair: "I’m a Celeb is due to start later this month and other than Wrighty [Ian Wright], who we know has been in the jungle - and he's told me all about it and how he won't be going back in - there's only Micah Richards of my punditry colleagues I could see in there.

"If it was between him or Martin Keown, it would have to be Micah Richards. He could be the King of the Jungle, and it would sure be entertaining seeing him in there.
"I can't see myself going in there though, absolutely not!" This news will undoubtedly be sad news for the show's hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly who are both massive Newcastle United supporters.
McPartlin was spotted in the stands at St James' Park last weekend as Newcastle picked up a 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League.
