Carabao Cup quarter-final draw in full as Manchester United land Tottenham tie
by Shane Ireland · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United will play Tottenham in the stand-out tie in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
United emerged as comfortable victors on Wednesday night, netting five goals against Leicester City. The 2023 Carabao Cup champions advanced into the final eight under the guidance of Ruud van Nistelrooy, but it's likely that interim boss will have been replaced by Ruben Amorim when the next round commences.
The remaining matches will see reigning champions Liverpool journey to Southampton and Arsenal welcoming Crystal Palace for a London derby. Meanwhile, Newcastle, after their victory over Chelsea, will host Brentford at home.

The quarter-final fixtures are scheduled for mid-December. The two-legged semi-finals will follow in the new year, culminating in the final on March 16 at Wembley.
Arsenal triumphed over Preston North End on Wednesday night, ensuring only Premier League teams continue in the competition. Gabriel Jesus, Ethan Nwaneri and Kai Havertz scored at Deepdale, leading to Preston joining Championship sides Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday in exiting at this stage, reports the Mirror.
Wednesday's games kicked off slightly earlier with Liverpool securing a 3-2 win at Brighton, keeping their hopes of retaining the trophy alive. Last year's runners-up Chelsea, however, are out, with Newcastle's two early goals sealing the deal at St James' Park.
In the late kick-off on Wednesday, a significantly rotated Manchester City team fell short against Tottenham. Goals from Timo Werner and Pape Matar Sarr put Spurs two goals ahead, with Matheus Nunes' response insufficient to keep the 2021 winners in the running for their ninth victory in the competition.
