Manchester United could be set for a busy January transfer window if the latest reports are to be believed.

United signed five players during the summer window with Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte all added to the squad. It remains to be seen if United will look to bring in further reinforcements when the window opens again in the New Year.

Erik ten Hag's side were beaten 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend in the Premier League. United will now prepare to face Porto in the Champions League on Thursday night before taking on Aston Villa at the weekend in their final match before the October international break.

MEN Sport takes a look at some of the latest United transfer news and gossip to swirl over the last 24 hours.

United are reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. According to TEAMtalk, the Reds are monitoring the 20-year-old and could make an offer to bring the player to Old Trafford either in January or next summer.

Wharton only signed for Palace in January this year from Blackburn Rovers and just a few months later was named in the England squad for Euro 2024. Now the midfielder is being linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, with the report claiming United will face competition from Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich for his signature.

It has also been reported that United view Wharton as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Elsewhere, United are being linked with a move for Dinamo Zagreb striker Bruno Petkovic. According to Give Me Sport, the Reds are looking to sign a new striker in the January transfer window to provide competition for Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.

The report claims that Ten Hag is keen to bring in an experienced striker to add to his squad for the second half of the season. Petkovic has been identified as a target for United, with the 30-year-old scoring four goals across 10 appearances so far this season.
