Mike Tyson's huge fight with Jake Paul thrown into jeopardy after astonishing admission

Mike Tyson could face a boxing ban if he adopts the same approach as his 2020 bout with Roy Jones Jr. The former heavyweight champion is set to enter the ring against YouTube sensation Jake Paul in Texas this November.

The match-up has turned heads, with Tyson at 58 years old, over three decades older than Paul, who holds a 10-1 record since switching to boxing five years ago. Despite facing seasoned MMA fighters, Paul remains largely unbeaten in the ring.

Initially planned for July this year, the fight was postponed due to Tyson suffering an ulcer flare-up, leading to a rescheduled date. Tyson has been candid about his consumption of marijuana and magic mushrooms, claiming they helped him recover during training and that he was under their influence during his fight with Jones Jr.

Their 2020 fight was regulated by the California Commission, where marijuana is legal for both medical and recreational use. However, Tyson's continued use of such substances could see him in trouble with the Texas Commission, which bans marijuana.

On a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tyson was questioned about his potential state during the upcoming fight with Paul.

"I'm gonna be so high off life, yeah," Tyson declared. When probed about being high on marijuana, he added: "That's a possibility too."

The seriousness of Tyson's remarks remains uncertain, yet the Texas Commission has previously issued penalties for positive marijuana tests. Last year, lightweight prospect Keyshawn Davis faced a 90-day suspension on these grounds.

Regardless, Tyson is focused on his bout against Paul, dedicating six hours daily to training to ensure he's in peak condition.

"I want to change biology," he declared. "I want to change the way people think about age. People think that as you get older you become weaker, you become less physically active at a high level. It's all psychological."

"If you believe you feel bad and you feel old - then you feel bad and old. If you believe you feel great, you feel great. It's all about what we see about ourselves."
