Bruno Fernandes receives Man United response over Erik ten Hag exit comments
by Mark Wakefield · Manchester Evening NewsFormer Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has sent a message to Bruno Fernandes following his recent comments about Erik ten Hag.
United parted ways with Ten Hag last month following a defeat away at West Ham in the Premier League. Ruud van Nistelrooy was named as interim manager before Ruben Amorim was appointed as the new head coach, and he will officially take on the job on November 11.
The first Premier League match after Ten Hag's exit saw United held to a 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend. Fernandes opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Moises Caicedo equalised for the visitors at Old Trafford.
Fernandes gave an interview with Sky Sports after the game where the United captain issued an apology to his former manager.

"I spoke to him and I apologised if there was anything I could have done better,” Fernandes told Sky Sports on Sunday. “I feel very disappointed that he’s gone.
"I wasn’t scoring goals, obviously that’s not good for me, and the team are not scoring many goals and I feel responsible.”
Now Sheringham, who made more than 150 appearances during his career with United, has sent a message to Fernandes following the apology to Ten Hag. Sheringham explained why he can empathise with Fernandes from an experience from his own career.
“I can understand why Bruno Fernandes apologised to Erik ten Hag, he was partly to blame for his sacking," Sheringham told Flashscore.
“He has taken responsibility for the part he had to play and I think that’s a good thing.
“I look at Ossie Ardiles at Spurs, he was such a fantastic man and a manager. I loved playing for him so when he got the sack, I was very distraught amongst others.”
