A hat trick from Nathan Behm sparked the Kamloops Blazers in their first win of the WHL season on Friday night at Sandman Centre, where they beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-3.

Behm, Andrew Thomson and Oren Shtrom were the goal scorers for the Blazers. Nathan Pilling, Nishaan Parma and Braeden Cootes scored for the Thunderbirds.

The Blazers scored twice in the second period to take a 4-2 lead before Cootes and Shtrom exchanged goals in the third.

Logan Edmonstone made 32 saves on 35 shots to earn his first win of the season in net for the Blazers. Seattle goalie Jaxson Dikur stopped 28 of 32 Blazers shots.

The Blazers were scoreless on three power-play opportunities while the T-Birds scored once on three chances.
