UFC Vegas 98 Fight Card: Start Time And How To Watch

The next fight card on the UFC schedule takes place on Saturday, October 12, at the UFC Apex is Las Vegas, Nevada. A flyweight bout between Brandon Royval and Tatsuro Taira serves as the main event for the UFC Fight night event. In the co-main event slot, Brad Tavares faces Park Jun-yong in a middleweight matchup.

Royval enters the UFC Vegas 98 fight card as the No. 1 fighter in the official UFC flyweight rankings. The 32-year-old is coming off a February split-decision victory over two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno. The 24-year-old Taira is ranked No. 5 in the UFC’s 125-pound weight class. He is coming off a June TKO win over former UFC flyweight title challenger Alex Perez.

The main card of UFC Vegas 98 begins at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The prelims for the UFC Apex event start at 4 p.m. ET, and they also stream on ESPN+.

UFC Vegas 98 Main Event

Brandon Royval (16-7) joined the UFC in 2020 with a 10-4 record. At the time, Royval was coming off a November 2019 submission win over Nate Williams, earning him the LFA flyweight title.

Today, Royval, who fought Alexandre Pantoja for the UFC flyweight title in December, losing via unanimous decision, is 6-3 with the UFC.

Royval has four career knockout wins, nine submissions, and three decisions. Royval’s losses have come by knockout (one), submission (one), and decision (five).

Tatsuro Taira (16-0) has risen up the UFC flyweight ranks fairly quickly. He joined the UFC in May 2022 with a record of 10-0, and after winning the Shooto flyweight title. He is 6-0 under the UFC banner.

Taira has five career wins by knockout, seven submissions, and four decisions.
