The next fight card on the UFC schedule, UFC Vegas 99, takes place on Saturday, October 19, at the UFC Apex is Las Vegas, Nevada. A middleweight matchup between Anthony Hernandez and Michel Pereira serves as the main event for the UFC Fight night event. In the co-main event slot, Rob Font faces Kyler Phillips in a bantamweight bout.

Hernandez (12-2-0-1) enters Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card as the No. 13 ranked fighter in the official UFC middleweight rankings. Pereira (31-11-0-2) is one spot below his opponent in those rankings.

Font (20-8) checks in at the No. 10 spot in the 135-pound rankings, while Phillips (12-2) is ranked at No. 14 in the bantamweight division.

UFC Vegas 99 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 19. The main card begins at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The prelims start at 4 p.m. ET on the same streaming network.

Hernandez went 1-2 in his first three bouts with the UFC, but he remains undefeated since then, putting together a five-fight winning streak. The 30-year-old is coming off a “Performance of the Night” bonus-winning submission victory over Roman Kopylov in February at UFC 298.

Hernandez has two knockout victories, eight subs, and two decisions during his MMA career.

Once known as mostly a showman, Pereira can still bring excitement to the Octagon, but he’s a more focused and disciplined fighter today then he was when he made his UFC debut in May 2019.

The more controlled version of Pereira is riding a eight-fight winning streak. The 31-year-old Pereira has picked up fight-night bonuses in his past four victories, with three stoppages during that span. Pereira is coming off a May submission win over Ihor Potieria at UFC 301.

Pereira has 11 knockout wins, nine submissions, and 11 victories via decision during his MMA career.
