Real Madrid phenomenon Vinicius Jr said that he wants to stay at the club "forever" following a sensational hat trick in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

The defending champions went down the tunnel at the Bernabeu trailing 2-0 to their 2023/2024 final opponents, who looked set to get some sort of compensation revenge for being beaten at Wembley earlier this year.

As history repeated itself once more, however, Los Blancos mounted another comeback for the ages with Vinicius scoring a hat trick as his team roared to a 5-2 victory on Matchday 3.

Interviewed by Movistar on the pitch following the full time whistle, Vinicius confessed that Madrid must improve as a team otherwise head coach Carlo Ancelotti "won't be able to handle it".

Above all though, he demanded that the squad needs to "believe in ourselves".

"In our house and with our fans anything can happen. When we got to the locker room [at half time], we only listened to the coach and we said only one thing: 'If we score first we will come back again'," Vini revealed.

"We're looking at how we're going to play and the coach wants to make the games easier for us. In the second half we changed the formation and the dynamic. It's our competition and we want to win it again," he added.

Linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia next summer, where Al-Ahly is willing to smash the world transfer record to bring him to the Kingdom's Pro League according to Goal, Vinicius Jr pointed out that he still has four years left on his current contract with his employers and wants to "continue forever" with Real Madrid.

Seen as the favourite for the sport's highest individual honor awarded by France Football, Vinicius wouldn't be coaxed into talking about the Ballon d'Or which is set to be handed out in Paris next Monday.

"I leave that to the people," he said. "They can say what they want, I'm happy when the fans sing my name."

Before that, however, Vinicius Jr now has to focus on El Clasico against Madrid's bitter rivals FC Barcelona at the weekend.
