Royval enters tonight’s UFC Vegas 98 fight card as the No. 1 fighter in the official UFC flyweight rankings. The 32-year-old is coming off a February split-decision victory over two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno. That win followed a December 2023 unanimous decision loss to UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja. Royval has a career record of 16-7 with four knockouts, nine submissions, and three decisions.
The 24-year-old Taira is ranked No. 5 in the UFC’s 125-pound weight class. He is coming off a June TKO win over former UFC flyweight title challenger Alex Perez. Taira won that fight when a leg injury left Perez unable to continue. Before that win, Taira defeated Carlos Hernandez via TKO in December. Taira has a perfect 16-0 record with five knockouts, seven submissions, and four decisions.
Tavares (20-9) has been with the UFC since June 2010. He is 1-3 in his past four fights. Tavares most recent win was an August 2023 decision victory over former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman. In his most recent outing, Tavares lost to Gregory Rodrigues via TKO.
Park (17-6) joined the UFC in 2019. He was riding a four-fight winning streak when he stepped into the Octagon in December to face Andre Muniz. Muniz won that fight by split decision.
