Sorry!!!

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, makes his highly-anticipated return at UFC 309 this weekend (Sat., Nov. 16, 2024) against former division kingpin, Stipe Miocic, from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The build-up between the two headliners for this Heavyweight championship fight has been pretty quiet until this past weekend. However, Jones then caught wind of Miocic calling him a “b—tch” on Countdown to UFC 309 (watch it here) and randomly flipped out on social media.

“Hiring black fighters to mimic me will not help you, Stipe,” Jones wrote. “And you shouldn’t have called me a b—ch, the disrespect wasn’t necessary. Let’s play,”

Today (Mon., Nov. 11, 2024), during an interview with Ariel Helwani, Miocic walked back from calling Jones a female dog and apologized.

“He was talking to me, I was talking to him,” Miocic said. “Bring it on. Sorry if I hurt his feelings. I wasn’t trying to disrespect him. It was just the heat of the moment.”

Jones has not responded to Miocic’s apology as of this writing. Still, the week has just started, and there will be several opportunities, whether at media day or the pre-fight press conference.

If UFC 309’s pay-per-view (PPV) main event needed any boost, maybe this random bad blood was what it needed.
