Daniel Dubois scored the most important finish of his boxing career earlier today (Sat., Sept. 21, 2024) LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Arena in London, England, defending his IBF heavyweight title with a monstrous fifth-round knockout over former champion Anthony Joshua.

Despite being a betting underdog and competing in front of 96,000 fans in London, Dubois left nothing to the imagination from the opening bell. He crumbled Joshua towards the end of the first round and had him hurt very badly. As if that wasn’t enough, Dubois followed his efforts up in the third round to secure yet another knockdown. Joshua was absolutely floored.

Joshua sustained another massive blow in the fourth and seemed to finally be on his way out. However, the former heavyweight champion clawed his way back and looked to have Dubois in trouble in the fifth. As Joshua was pressing the action along the corner Dubois uncorked one final right hand that caught Joshua flush and sent him crashing head first into the canvas.

It was an incredible finish and one that left 96,000 screaming boxing fans in complete shock and awe. The victory was easily the biggest of Dubois’ career. As for Joshua, this loss really hurts his heavyweight stock heading into 2025.
