What Philippe Clement told Vaclav Cerny after winger exploded at Rangers fans

The wide man didn't take kindly to some groans from the home support at Ibrox

Boss Philippe Clement insists Vaclav Cerny "loves" the Rangers fans as he lifted the lid on what he said to the winger after his furious reaction to the Ibrox crowd.

The Czech star faced some criticism from the home crowd for his display and temperatures reached boiling point in Govan during the second half of the Scottish Premiership showdown with Hibs. The Light Blues would hold on to the three points after Tom Lawrence netted the only goal of the game - but Rangers were forced to battle for the result with the Easter Road outfit piling the pressure on in the closing stages.

Cerny gave the ball away sparking audible groans from the home supporters - before he was seen throwing his arms in the air and mouthing things to the crowd. On Sky Sports commentary, former Gers' hero Neil McCann claimed the wide man had told his own fans "where to go."

Following the flashpoint, Clement was seen talking to the player in what appeared to be an attempt to calm him down. But Cerny was substituted shortly after the incident to be replaced by Dujon Sterling.

The Belgian boss has now attempted to move on from the row between the player and punters. Asked about the incident on BBC Sportsound and what he told the furious player, Clement said: "It was just about keeping focus on the game in the heat of the moment. He loves the fans and the fans love him, so nothing special."
