Dermot Gallagher blames Celtic fans for Nicolas Kuhn red card jeopardy as he chucks in ANOTHER theory over ref let off

Goal hero Kuhn was on a booking when he celebrated with the fans late on at Dingwall

by · Daily Record

Former referee Dermot Gallagher reckons it was the Celtic fans that ran into Nicolas Kuhn - as the winger escaped the wild celebrations at Ross County without a red card.

The German sparked wild scenes in the away end after he curled the ball into the far corner at Dingwall before rushing towards the fans to celebrate - and was quickly mobbed by the overjoyed punters in the Highlands. Kuhn had already been handed a booking by the man in the middle Kevin Clancy in the Scottish Premiership showdown but the referee kept his cards in his pocket following the scenes.

Fans and pundits have speculated over the decision to not book Kuhn for a second time - and ex English Premier League whistler reckons the actions of the support have played into Clancy's thinking. Gallagher was asked why the Celtic hero wasn't "automatically" shown a second yellow on Sky Sports' Ref Watch because he "ran into the crowd after scoring".

He said: "I think what saves him is the crowd running into him as well. He doesn't actually go across the hoardings does he? If you look,

"And it's a matter of if they think he has incited, and I think in that case they (the fans) were already across. In that case it's very difficult (to show a yellow) because the supporters are already there."
