Scott Brown in St Johnstone 'frame' to be new boss along with Aberdeen coach and Northern Irish title winner
Brown has made an impressive start to the season with Ayr United
by Ross Pilcher, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/ross-pilcher/ · Daily RecordScott Brown is one of several names in the frame to take over at St Johnstone, according to a report.
The former Celtic captain is impressing since taking the reins at Ayr Utd last January and has the Honest Men sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table with 15 points from seven games so far. Now the Courier reports Saints are keeping a close eye on Brown as they search for Craig Levein's replacement after axing the former Hearts and Dundee United boss last week.
Larne's title-winning boss Tiernan Lynch is another on their radar. The Northern Irish money men have scooped the NIFL Premiership title two years on the bounce and Lynch is catching the eye of clubs across the water, although they sit a lowly eighth this term. However, theylve only played 5 games to their rivals' eight or nine due to their involvement in the Europa Conference League.
A third name on Saints wishlist is thought to be Peter Leven. The Aberdeen coach performed admirably in a couple of caretaker spells at Pittodrie last season, before Neil Warnock's disastrous stint in charge and then after, taking the helm as the Dons waited for Jimmy Thelin to finish up at Elfsborg.
Leven was retained by the Swede as part of his backroom team, but the chance to step up to the top job at another Premiership club could be tempting. New St johnstone owner Adam Webb revealed last week he is suffering from neck and head cancer, and hopes to appoint a new man before he undergoes surgery in the states,
