Queen of the South manager Peter Murphy told how he would gladly take winning ugly to haul his side back on track.
The Doonhamers slumped to defeat in the derby clash at Annan and now face Montrose tomorrow in Dumfries desperate to return to winning ways.
They have lost their last three league matches including a 5-1 thumping at home to Kelty Hearts and Murphy said: “I would certainly takes us not playing very well and getting the three points.
“Ideally, with clean sheets and scoring goals and we need to make sure we do both.
“Next up is Montrose who are a good side in this division and we need to go and make sure we are ready.
“It is up to us (coaches) to keep the players up.
“We need to improve our play and there was a lot of thing I did wrong (against Annan) which I need to look at.
“But when you step back from the game and look, although we lost 1-0 we played well and created chances but just didn’t take these opportunities which is very frustrating.”
Queens are at home to Montrose and Murphy added: “Our home form has been good apart from the last game where we lost 5-1 to Kelty Hearts and the players were certainly made aware of that.
“I think last season Queens had a problem with the home form so we have changed that around and just need to start picking up three points away from home. We have not scored a goal away from home and that needs to change.
“We don’t have forward options due to long term injuries and we only got Brennan Dickenson back in at the weekend who has only played 45 minutes in a reserve match.
“But the positive thing is that we are creating chances, just not scoring them. And if we had only scored against Annan then it could have been a totally different game.”
