Carter-Vickers is back on the grass in major boost to Celtic

Cameron Carter Vickers BACK in Celtic training ahead of Aberdeen clash in major boost to Brendan Rodgers

The Hoops boss now has to decide how much game exposure to give the USA man with Atalanta to come next week

Cameron Carter-Vickers is back in training ahead of Celtic’s top of the table clash with Aberdeen.

It is a major lift to Brendan Rodgers and his squad to have the key defender back out on the grass, going into Saturday’s top two showdown. Both Celtic and Aberdeen have won their opening seven league games and the Hoops are just ahead on goal difference. The champions will be looking for the home victory to end Jimmy Thelin’s dream run and to go clear at the Premiership summit.

Rodgers now has to decide how much game exposure to give him with Celtic facing a key Champions League trip to Atalanta next week. The American international has been out since last month with a toe injury. The 26-year-old hasn’t been involved since he limped out of the opening day Euro win over Slovan Bratislava late on. Aaron Trusty has come in and filled the void alongside Liam Scales since Carter-Vickers has been out injured.
