Nottingham Forest are in hot water with the FA after troubled flared during their 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

An incident involving Reds sub Neco Williams and Blues defender Marc Cucurella sparked a mass confrontation late in the game, prompting the FA to take action.

In a statement they say: “Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have been charged after the mass confrontation at their Premier league fixture on Sunday, 6 October.

“It’s alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 88th minute.

“Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have until Thursday, 10 October, to provide their responses.”

Williams seemed to push Cucurella into Blues boss Enzo Maresca on the touchline, sparking the incident.

Chris Woods had given Forest the lead at Stamford Bridge before Noni Madueke's second-half strike have the hosts a share of the spoils.

Forest’s James Ward-Prowse was sent off during the game after receiving two yellow cards, while Reds boss Nuno was also handed a caution.

He said after the game: “I must apologise for my behaviour, but I didn’t do anything that another manager wouldn’t do.

“What I’m trying to say is, please referees understand we that are there on the touchline and on the pitch, it is very emotional.

"There are so many things happening, so many thoughts and so many circumstances. It is very hard to keep our emotions together.”
