Nottingham Forest's Cole Palmer plan as Nuno reveals what he told his squad ahead of Chelsea

Latest Nottingham Forest news as Nuno Espirito Santo's Reds prepare to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

Nuno Espirito Santo has underlined the strength of the collective as Nottingham Forest plot a way to thwart one of the most in-form players in the Premier League.

The Reds take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (2pm kick-off) looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 1-0 home defeat to Fulham. Their opponents have many threats, of course, but one in particular stands out.

England international Cole Palmer became the first player to score four first-half goals in a Premier League game when the Blues toppled Brighton and Hove Albion 4-2 last Saturday. Forest are well aware of the danger he poses, but Nuno is keen for his team to cause a few problems of their own.

Asked how he will go about trying to stifle Palmer, the Portuguese said: “The team. It is always about the team. The spaces, the organisation. There is definitely a lot of talent in the Chelsea squad and we have to be really ready.

“We have been working today and this is what we are also going to do tomorrow. And then we are going to play the game, but not only focus on that aspect but also how we can harm them. How can we produce and score? It is about that also.

“We cannot ignore (Palmer). But it is not the game plan based on one person, it is about the team.

“Chelsea are much more than their individual players. They have a very good idea of football with the way they create possession and then release the space for the talented players they have. If we can in some way prevent the good players receiving the ball in the right spaces, we are doing good work. That is why it’s about the team and how we can manage these players.

“You asked if I spoke with the team about him (Palmer), but I spoke with the team about Chelsea. We have to focus on that.”
