Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar led the chorus of praise for R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja following their batting brilliance in India’s first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai on September 19. After India’s top-order collapsed on Day 1, it was Ashwin and Jadeja’s resilient 195-run partnership that pulled the team out of trouble at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Tendulkar, alongside former Indian cricket icons like Sourav Ganguly and Dinesh Karthik, took to social media to laud the remarkable stand between Ashwin and Jadeja. While Sachin praised their composure under pressure, others celebrated their ability to turn the game around.

"From despair to domination! @ashwinravi99 and @imjadeja's knocks have turned the tide for India once again. This all-round brilliance is invaluable. Super partnership boys," Sachin said in his post.

Ashwin dominated from the start, smashing an unbeaten 102 off 112 balls, while Jadeja showcased immense resilience, contributing an equally crucial 86* off 117 deliveries. Their partnership not only revived India's innings but shifted the momentum back to the home side after a dismal start.

Earlier in the day, India’s top-order faltered, with captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill all departing cheaply. The situation appeared dire until a brief but important partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant brought some relief. They pushed India to 144 before both players were dismissed, leaving Ashwin and Jadeja to take charge.

What followed was a game-changing performance from the seasoned duo. Their partnership not only steadied India’s innings but also erased Bangladesh’s early advantage. By the end of Day 1, India had recovered to a commanding 339/6, with Ashwin and Jadeja still at the crease, providing hope for more runs on Day 2.
