2nd NECDC Senior Men’s Interstate Friendship Tournament 2024

Dimapur, September 23: The 2nd NECDC Senior Men’s Interstate Friendship Tournament 2024 began in style today, with two high-energy matches at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium and Sovima Cricket Ground. Both matches showcased outstanding performances from local talents, setting the stage for an exciting tournament ahead.

Match 1: Nagaland vs Sikkim

In the first match of the tournament held at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Nagaland secured a commanding win against Sikkim by 6 wickets. The highlight of the game was Khrievitso Kense who took an impressive 5-wicket haul in just 19 runs, earning him the Player of the Match title.

Batting first Sikkim were all out at 128 in 28.5 overs with Palzor Tamang being the top scorer with 46 (50 balls).

For Nagaland Khrievitso Kense claimed 5 wickets for 19 runs while Nagaho Chishi took 3 for 22.

Chasing a modest score, Nagaland reached the target in 28.3 overs scoring 131 for the loss of 4 wickets.

Jonathan Rongsen contributed 45* (69) and Sede 45 (75). For Sikkim, Bhim Luitel took 2 wickets for 26.

The award for Player of the Match was presented by Ansuman Samantaray, Senior Vice President & North East Circle Head of Axis Bank, to Khrievitso Kense for his outstanding bowling performance that led to Nagaland’s victory.

In the second match played at Sovima Cricket Ground, Manipur demonstrated complete dominance over Meghalaya, winning by an emphatic 189 runs. Raj Kumar Rex Singh was the standout player, taking a remarkable 5 wickets in just 11 runs, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Batting first, Manipur scored 254 for the loss of 5 wickets in 50 overs. Johnson Singh 68 (56) and Langlonyamba Singh M 59 (59) were the top scorers.

For Meghalaya, Swarjeet Das claimed 2 wickets.

While chasing the target, Meghalaya’s batsmen faltered and were all out at 65 in 20.4 overs. Riboklang Hynniewta was the top scorer with 21 (29)

For Nagaland Raj Kumar Rex Singh claim 5 for 11.
