Former Rangers Star Pens Deal With Livingston

Former Rangers defender Danny Wilson has penned a short-term contract at Scottish Championship side Livingston.

Wilson is a free agent after the end of his deal at Queen’s Park and is keen to head back to the United States, where he played in the MLS for Colorado Rapids.

Livingston have now moved to bring Wilson in to provide extra defensive cover and he has joined on a deal running until the start of next year.

Livingston boss David Martindale feels it makes sense for the club and also for Wilson as he builds himself up for an MLS return.

“Danny had been in training with us, with a view to getting himself back to America so a short term deal at this stage suited both parties”, Martindale told Livingston’s official site.

“He has been brilliant in and around the club and I am looking forward to him now being able to join up with the group properly as Livingston player.”

Wilson played for Rangers before he made the move to Colorado Rapids and clocked 83 outings for the Gers in his stint; he also turned out for the club at the start of his career after coming through the Rangers youth set-up.

The 32-year-old won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup, Scottish Championship and Scottish Challenge Cup in a Rangers shirt.
