Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have refused to bow to public pressure and change the rules of their upcoming fight.

The two face off in Arlington, Texas next month after their original fight was cancelled following an ulcer flare-up for the boxing icon. The countdown for the rearranged bout is now firmly underway.

Next month’s clash will see Paul and Tyson go glove-to-glove in a professional showdown in an eight two-minute round format - as opposed to the more standard three-minute rounds. Paul had dared his legendary opponent to take him on over 10 three-minute rounds after public demands, but the rules will NOT be changed.

The sanctioned fight has already been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Both boxers will wear 14-ounce gloves, heavier than the standard gloves.

Speaking before the upcoming fight, Tyson warned his opponent: "Be in shape, be in good shape because your health depends on it" before Paul replied: "You're the one who wanted right two-minute rounds, want to make it 10x3? Don't talk to me about shape, you want 10x3?"

Tyson did not respond and Paul continued: "That's the thing, everyone's all talk, I'll do whenever, wherever, it's all talk. I'm stating facts, he's s***-talking." Tyson did eventually offer a response when he said simply: "Be careful... he should be very careful."

Paul then warned Tyson that he would be knocking him out during their clash, adding: "People are always going to have something to say, it's because I've proved everyone wrong. I'm here to make history, I'm here for a challenge and I'm here to fight one of the most dangerous men in boxing.

"He's vicious, he's a killer, he has one-punch KO power, he is the greatest heavyweight of all time but I will prove all of the haters wrong, that's what I've always done. I'm not scared of s***, I was born for this moment, the universe told me this was going to happen. I'm going to put on the performance of a lifetime.”

The fight is set to go on each fighter’s boxing record. Paul currently sits at 10 victories, seven by knockout - and one solitary defeat, that coming against Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia last year.

Meanwhile, Tyson’s record sits at 50-6, with 44 wins by knockout. But he has not taken to the ring for a professionally sanctioned fight since his 2005 defeat by Kevin McBride.
