National Football League to open with repeat of All-Ireland final
by Karl O'Kane · Irish MirrorGalway and Armagh will open the 2025 National Football League with a bang in a repeat of this year’s All-Ireland final.
The tie has provisionally set for Saturday, January 25, and is dependent on completion of the installation of floodlights at Pearse Stadium.
Armagh came out on top last July in a growing rivalry to land a first Sam Maguire since 2002, while the sides drew in the group stages in Sligo.

Fixtures released to counties by the GAA are provisional and changes could yet occur to the schedule.
Galway hurlers are pencilled in to play Tipperary at home the day after the footballers face Armagh.
Another big football tie has been provisionally set for the first night of the football league with Dublin at home to Mayo in Croke Park.
The following day Tyrone are at home in Omagh to managerless Derry, while Donegal make the long trip to Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney to face Kerry.
Week two of the National Football League sees Mayo entertain Galway on Saturday, February 1 at Castlebar, with Dublin going to MacCumhaill Park to face Donegal on the same evening.
Fixtures won't be fully confirmed for a number of weeks with counties able to suggest changes to the schedule.
