Daniel Dubois' sister Caroline targeting Katie Taylor fight in 2025

Caroline Dubois is the mandatory challenger for one of Katie Taylor's world titles

Daniel Dubois will be targeting the biggest win of his career when he steps into the ring with Anthony Joshua on Saturday night at Wembley.

A victory over his fellow Englishman would put Dubois on course for an undisputed heavyweight world title showdown with the winner of Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury next year.

But the 27-year-old is not the only one in his family targeting a massive bout in 2025 as his younger sister Caroline is hoping to get a shot at Katie Taylor.

The 23-year-old defeated Maira Moneo via unanimous decision last month to claim the WBC Interim World Lightweight Title and become the mandatory for Taylor's WBC belt at 135lbs.

However, the Bray Bomber is set to defend the belts she holds at 140lbs against Amanda Serrano in November and looks unlikely to move back down to lightweight anytime soon after vacating the WBO and IBF belts she held at the weight earlier this year.

Dubois has made no secret of her desire to share the ring with Taylor, but says she won't go chasing the 2012 Olympic gold medallist.

“I’m not going to go chasing anyone. I just want to be involved in a sold-out fight and a headliner. I believe I’m one of the best fighters around," she told SportsBoom.com. "Actually, I am the best. Now, this is about actually making it happen. I can say whatever you want me to say. It means nothing. The most important thing is getting in that ring and actually doing it.

“Katie Taylor is obviously the biggest name out there. But luckily there’s so many other big names out there too: Alycia Baumgardner, Rhiannon Dixon, Terri Harper and Beatriz Ferreira.”

Dubois also claims that she "took to boxing better than all of my other brothers and sisters".

She added: “One hundred percent, I’m the most natural in the family because I was the only one who actually asked to box.

“I did it because, being a girl, I wanted to be noticed. I wanted to show that we could do it too.”

“We’re all there for each other and will do whatever it takes. But, definitely, I reckon I’m the one who picked it up the easiest because I actually asked to do it.”

“There’s no comparison between us, though,” added Dubois, whose brothers Prince and Solomon also box.

“We are all on our own different journeys, so I don’t like doing that - saying who is the best - because there’s no point to it and doesn’t make any sense.

“What I will do, though, is say that we are there for each other. Always.”
