Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi is looking forward to a straight win over Libya in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The match will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo as part of a doubleheader clash in the qualifying series.

Nigeria currently leads Group D with four points after two games, and a victory in this match would bring them closer to securing a spot at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Awoniyi, who missed the first phase of the qualifiers due to injury, expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to achieve victory.

He emphasized the team’s readiness for the task at hand and their determination to secure a win for the fans.

“It’s a great privilege, and I think every player that is here is ready for the task for sure. Nothing but winning for the fans,” Awoniyi said.

“We’ve known each other for years now, and we’ve gotten to see each other again. All the players are excited about it, and for sure, we are ready for the game.”

Note that the Super Eagles vs Libya clash will kick off at 5 p.m. later today, October 11 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The Eagles are going into the game as Group D table toppers, while Libya are occupying the bottom of the group with a point in two games.
