“Too far ahead to think” – Wolves player quizzed about change of manager

Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Jørgen Strand Larsen has been asked if he would like Ole Gunnar Solskjær as manager of Norway.

The former Manchester United manager has recently expressed his desire to take control of the national side at some stage.

Speaking to Dagbladet, Larsen was asked about Solskjaer taking over from Ståle Solbakken at some point. The young forward pointed out the current coach has a contract, but he does see Solskjaer as an option to be the future Norway manager.

He believes at this stage it’s too early to look ahead and the focus should only be on the upcoming games.

“There are many who want to become a national team coach. Solskjær is of course a profile that could eventually take over. But Ståle will probably be finished in 2026. It’s a bit too far ahead to think for us. We are primarily focusing on the match against Slovenia on Thursday,” said the Wolves loanee.

Larsen joined Wolves in the summer transfer window, and doubled his Premier League goal tally when he scored in the defeat to Brentford at the weekend.

This loss has piled more pressure on Wolves boss Gary O’Neil after a poor start to the season.

The youngster is currently away with the national team as they prepare for their UEFA Nation League games against Slovenia and Austria.

With just 20 minutes under his belt from the opening two Nations League games, the Wolves forward will be looking to get more game time.
