The Basketball Champions League season started the best possible way for ERA Nymburk which beat Promitheas in Patras (86-78) on a game for Group D.

Nighael Ceaser with 16 points, Stephen Brown with 16, and Christian Bishop with 12 points were the leading scorers of the winning side.

Promitheas got 18 points from Darius Perry which was not enough.

On a very competitive first half, despite an early 16-10 lead by Promitheas, Nymburk built a nine-point advantage (42-33) and closed the first half up by five (44-39) thanks to 15 offensive rebounds.

Ceaser had already scored 10 points in less than 10 minutes of action and set the tone early, as Nymburk closed the third quarter still leading by eight (67-59).

Promitheas tried to react, but Nymburk kept things – and rebounds – under control pushing the lead to 11 (73-62) with six minutes left and cruising until the end.
