Curry after winning in Boston: “We are capable of beating anybody”

A brilliant start to the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season by the Golden State Warriors extended to a win, 118-112, versus the Boston Celtics in TD Garden.
“We are capable of beating anybody,” noted Stephen Curry, “It is hard. You got to embrace the challenge. This is a different year. We are trying to take baby steps and develop an identity.”
After missing three straight games with an ankle injury, Curry bounced back in style, averaging 25.5 points per game in winning efforts over the Washington Wizards on Monday and the defending champions on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old American guard, a four-time NBA champion and recent Olympic gold medalist, poured in ten of his 27 points against the C’s in the fourth quarter, paving the way for a seventh win in eight games for the team coached by Steve Kerr. Buddy Hield and Andrew Wiggins threw in 16 points each.
After prevailing in Boston the Warriors will continue a four-game road trip by facing the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Friday. The next demanding challenge is opposite the Oklahoma City Thunder in Paycom Center on Sunday.
On the losing end, Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 32 points and Derrick White followed with 26 points. Fellow starter, Portuguese Neemias Queta finished with 14 points to go with eight rebounds and two blocks over 28 minutes. Besides Latvian Kristaps Porzingis (left posterior tibialis tendon) remaining on the injury list, Jaylen Brown sat out a third consecutive game due to a strained left hip flexor.
