Who is Erling Haaland's pregnant girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen?

Erling Haaland has announced that he and girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen are expecting their first child.

Celebrating becoming Norway's all-time top scorer on Thursday night after the team's 3-0 win over Slovenia, the striker was snapped with the match ball under his jersey and with his thumb in his mouth to show that he will soon become a father.

The delighted Manchester City player later posted the image to Instagram and above it were baby and 'coming soon' emojis.

But who is the 24-year-old's stunning girlfriend? Isabel Haugseng Johansen, 20, is often pitch side to cheer the star striker and has supported him at awards ceremonies.

Yet her glamorous life in Manchester is a far cry from just a year ago when she was sitting in a classroom at Bryne Upper Secondary School in south-west Norway.

Her friends describe her as the 'luckiest girl in Byrne' and 'incredibly beautiful, intelligent, sociable, outdoorsy'.

Just a year ago, she cycled to school and lunched on fish sandwiches in the canteen; now she's been chauffeured around in a £400,000 white Rolls-Royce Cullinan and dines at the city's swishest restaurants.

In April 2023, as she was due to sit her final exams, Isabel discreetly moved into Haaland's Manchester flat, The Mail+ revealed.

The teenager - who had been living with her parents in the fjords - was given leave of absence to 'study remotely' by Brynne Upper Secondary School in south-west Norway.

Now, instead of cramming for exams, there are breaks in Marbella, where Haaland (who is estimated to be paid an eyewatering £375,000 each week) has a villa.

Isabel, who is a footballer herself and also works part-time at a fashion store, according to The Sun, is believed to have met Haaland at the youth academy at Bryne, who they both played for.

They started dating when he was at Borussia Dortmund, with Isabel making frequent trips to visit him.

Haaland joined Bryne at the age of five and spent more than 10 years with the Norwegian side before later having spells at RB Salzburg, Dortmund and Man City.

Despite a quiet private life and no social media presence, she has been more regularly seen in the public eye during Haaland's time at Man City, celebrating with him during their trophy successes.

Speaking to the Sun last year, an insider said of Haaland: 'Erling has the world at his feet — and women queuing up to be his partner.

'But he's a very sensible lad and it makes perfect sense he's with a girl from his home town who he's known for years. He needs to be able to trust the people in his life and just concentrate on football.'

Despite being outdoorsy, she seems to be settling into life in the UK's third city, with the couple previously spotted dining at the Ivy and taking trips to London for shopping trips on Oxford street.

Haaland scored his 33rd and 34th goals for Norway in a 3-0 win over Slovenia on Thursday night.

It was a night of celebration for Haaland, who became Norway's all-time top scorer after grabbing a brace against Slovenia

That saw him move ahead of late Jorgen Juve in Norway's all-time scoring charts, on a night when he also skippered the side the first time. Haaland completed the feat in only 36 matches.

On breaking Juve's 87-year-old record, Haaland said: 'Of course, it is big and historic. I'm happy, and it's a fantastic record to achieve... I have many years left. I'm enjoying myself.'

He added: 'It was a well executed match. I am proud. It is a record that has stood for a long time... I felt good. It's been a long time since I've had this much energy on the field.'

Haaland has begun the campaign in characteristically red-hot form, scoring 10 goals in his first 10 Premier League matches, though he is goalless in his last two.

Thursday night's win sees Norway climb to the summit of their Nations League group ahead of Austria, who claimed a 4-0 win over Kazakhstan.
