Mumbai Police investigating the murder case of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui conducted an ossification test of accused Dharmaraj Kashyap in which it was proved that he is not minor, an official said on Monday.

A bone ossification test ordered by a Mumbai court revealed that Dharmaraj Kashyap, an accused in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique who claimed to be a minor, is an adult.

Dharmaraj's lawyer had claimed that he was a minor, following which the court ordered an ossification test.

A Mumbai court on Sunday remanded one of the two alleged shooters in the Baba Siddique murder case in police custody till October 21 and ordered a bone ossification test on the other after he claimed he was a minor.

Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, who came out of jail on June 7 this year, met Gurmail Singh, one of the accused in the Baba Siddique murder case. While in jail, Akhtar was allegedly given a contract to kill Siddique by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, sources said.

Two accused -- Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap -- were arrested immediately after the accident. A third accused, Shiv Kumar, who started firing directly at Baba Siddiqui, is still absconding. 

The shooters of Baba Siddique accepted their connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The murder was a contract of lakhs, and the officials have suspected a Salman Khan connection in the same.
