Pedestrian killed, another seriously injured in Lynnwood hit-and-run

One pedestrian was killed and another was seriously injured Wednesday evening in a hit-and-run on Highway 99 in Lynnwood, according to Washington State Patrol.

The hit-and-run occurred at about 6:40 p.m. near milepost 49 at 164th Street Southwest, WSP said on X.

One pedestrian was fatally struck by a motorist and another was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, Trooper Rommie Smith said in an email.

No other details were immediately available.

Southbound lanes on Highway 99 were blocked as of 8 p.m. with traffic alternating using the northbound lane.
