Police search Derbyshire home as man accused of breaking officer's finger

A man has been charged with drug offences and assaulting a police officer after police searched a home in Sawley, near Long Eaton. Officers carried out the warrant at Peveril Crescent on October 7, where they found what is suspected to be cannabis.

Jan Luca Khan, of Peveril Crescent, was subsequently charged with the following drug offences:

• Being concerned in the supply crack cocaine

• Being concerned in the in supply of cocaine

• Being concerned in the supply of heroin

• Being concerned in the supply of cannabis

• Possession of cannabis

The 24-year-old was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm of a police officer who suffered a broken finger during an incident in Derby Road, Draycott, on July 12. After being charged he appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on October 8, where he was remanded to prison to appear at court at a later date.
